About the club

Built by island families, for island families

Islanders Lacrosse Club started with twelve kids, two coaches, and a borrowed field. The mission has not changed since.

Our mission

Grow confident athletes and better teammates — using lacrosse as the vehicle

We believe a youth sports club is judged by the kid who is eleventh on the roster, not the one who was always going to be great. So we build our practices, our rosters, and our coaching standards around that player.

That means capped group sizes, coaches who have actually played at a high level, and a curriculum that assumes your child will be with us for years — not a single season of chasing trophies.

It also means we take the logistics seriously. Parents get published schedules, reliable communication, and honest answers about cost and commitment before they sign anything.

Player development

How we actually coach

Four principles that shape every practice plan in the club.

Development before results

We would rather lose a game teaching a kid to go left than win one hiding them on the sideline. Playing time in K–8 is meaningful for every rostered player, full stop.

One curriculum, twelve grades

Skills build on each other from K through 12. A player who comes up through the club arrives in high school with a foundation, not a pile of disconnected drills.

Honest with families

Clear costs, clear time commitments, clear feedback about where your child stands. No surprise fees and no vague answers about roster decisions.

The long game

Multi-sport athletes are welcome and encouraged. We schedule around other seasons and we would rather have a player for eight years than burn them out in two.
